By organising Study Visits, the TEBD project offers participants from Chambers of Commerce and Industry (and Commodity Exchanges) in the European Union and Turkey the possibility to improve their knowledge and understanding of each other’s business communities and the opportunities that exist for cooperation and trade between businesses in Turkey and those in the EU Member States.
In the framework of the TEBD project, 4 four-day Study Visits are taking place in Turkey for executives from Chambers and/or Commodity Exchanges based in the EU Member States, and another 4 four-day Study Visits are being organised in the EU Member States for executives from Turkish Chambers and/or Commodity Exchanges. Each Study Visit has a specific focus, which can be thematic or sectoral. The themes are chosen taking into account the initiatives of Eurochambres and TOBB and the policy priorities of their members.
Each Study Visit includes presentations from and visits to various organisations and/or clusters, as well as site visits to companies that have a particular expertise in relation to the topic or sector that is the focus of the whole Study Visit. The programme of each Study Visit is tailored to the specific expectations and interests of the participants. Around 12 executives from Chambers and/or Commodity Exchanges can take part in each Study Visit.
The main aims of the TEBD Study Visits are as follows:
- Creating opportunities for networking and dialogue between representatives of the business communities in Turkey and the European Union.
- Offering the possibility to learn “on site” from other Chambers in both sides (EU -TR);
- Enhancing the knowledge and understanding of Turkey’s economy within the EU Chamber network and business community – and vice versa;
- Increasing the institutional capacity of the participating Chambers in relation to a specific topic or sector;
