SME Workshop #2 in Trabzon

The second  SME Workshop on EU Requirements for Agri-Food Products was organized yesterday (December 21, 2018) at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Trabzon (TTSO).

The workshop took place with the participation of Mr. M. Suat Hacısalihoğlu (Chairman of the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Mr. Eyyüp Ergan (Chairman of Trabzon Commodity Exchange), and Mr. Yavuz Selim Aykan (Provincial Director of Commerce and the Turkish business community).

Mr. M. Suat Hacısalihoğlu began his speech by pointing out that the TEBD project is being carried out in order to continue its activities to improve relations between the EU business world and Turkish business community in mutual dialogue:

As a result of these meetings, starting business relations is the most important issue. In order to maintain a sustainable relationship, information is inevitable. Half of our exports are with the EU countries. This means that our relations are quite good, but we need to take these relationships further. In order to make our relations sustainable, we must complete our shortcomings in accordance with mutual interests.

Following the welcome speech of Mr. Eyyüp Ergan, the TEBD Deputy Director, Belgin Kılıç, gave a short overview about the TEBD Project.

The Workshop continued with a comprehensive presentation on EU Requirements for Agri-Food Products, Customs Union between EU-Turkey and EU Competition Rules made by Mr. Luc Van Looveren (Senior Advisor EU Relations).
